RUTAS DE SENDERISMO

The interior of Pilar de la Horadada offers beautiful excursions and routes through Mediterranean woodland areas and the Sierra de Escalona.

The signposted routes along the Río Seco riverbed are particularly noteworthy. This 19 km hydrographic basin or "rambla" features two main paths: one 4 km long and another 10 km long (currently disabled), which stretch from the Pinar de Campoverde natural area to the mouth at Mil Palmeras beach. Along these routes, you can appreciate the effects of water erosion on a substrate of compacted sands. Botanical species associated with these riverbeds include reeds, rushes, tamarisks, and canes, all surrounded by an extensive pine forest.

The Pilar to the Sea Path (Senda del Pilar al Mar) is a route that connects the commercial center of Pilar de la Horadada with the beach. It is a 3 km journey following the urban riverbed, which can be explored on foot, by bicycle, or even on skates.
